After months of staying inside, the summer of 2020 felt like the first chance to break out and get some sun. For those taking extra precautions, a problematic phenomenon occurred: the mask tan.

The owners of Raythrus (a company that manufactured breathable masks that utilized a special technology to let sunlight through) wanted something that felt beachy, fun, and little bit retro.
